About the Opportunity 

The Credit Assessor is an integral part of the Credit Team, taking a leading role by optimising the lending performance of the organisation to meet strategic objectives, including that of business growth and financial sustainability. The team strives to add value and meet customer needs by providing an exceptional customer experience through prompt delivery of compliant lending services, particularly in loan assessment and approval, balancing the needs of the customer with Summerland’s requirement for growth and credit quality, whilst ensuring responsible lending in accordance with compliance requirements.  

Key responsibilities:  

  • Ensure assets are protected and risks are managed. 

  • Provide exceptional customer experience along with quick quality loan decisions.  

  • Take action to escalate risk issues or matters 

  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, ensuring quality relationships with intention to achieve the best outcome for the customer and Summerland.  

  • Deliver simplicity and insight by ensuring the complexity of process and compliance rests with us, not the customer.  

The Credit Assessor can apply their experience in lending and loans administration to deliver on strategic objectives and make a positive impact in the lives of our customers and community.  You are an energetic and highly motivated individual able to use initiative and work autonomously when needed and show a high level of commitment to teamwork.  You thrive in a performance culture, do not shy away from challenges, act with agility, adaptability and have the will to succeed.
